Policy For Each Lesson

The student should be online with all materials ready at least two minutes before the start of the lesson. In order to standardize the time amongst our students and teachers, the clock on the Alif Arabic website should be used by both the students and teachers(http://alifarabic.com/official-time).

When it is time for the lesson to begin, the instructor will call the student to begin the scheduled lesson. If the student misses a call from the teacher, the student should call the instructor immediately.
In the case of tardiness, the student has 15 minutes after the start of the lesson to call the teacher. If the student is more than 15 minutes late, it is considered an absence and the student has missed his or her lesson. Please note, that because of the tight teacher schedules, the teacher cannot extend the lesson past the scheduled time to allot for missed time from the tardy. If the student is late, he or she will miss out on that time.

Student Absences

A. Short Term/Temporary:

In order to schedule any absences, support team should be notified 48 hours prior to the missed class time. Given the 48 hour notice the missed class(es) can be rescheduled.

B. Up To 2 Weeks

To schedule an absence up to two weeks in length, support team should be notified of the start and end date of the scheduled absence 48 hours prior to the first missed class time. Students can choose to either make up missed classes or to have their classes temporarily paused while they are unavailable.

C. More than 2 Weeks

To schedule an absence longer than 2 weeks, support team should be notified of the start and end date of the scheduled absence 48 hours prior to the first missed class. Students can choose to pause their classes in which case we make no guarantee that their teacher and time slot will still be available upon their return, or they can choose to pay 50% of the tuition for the absence in advance to hold the class time and teacher.

Unscheduled Absences

A. Unscheduled Short Term
In the event that a student is absent from class for any reason (outside of an emergency) without notifying support team 48 hours prior to the absence, the class will be forfeited. If the student wants to schedule a make-up class for an unscheduled absence, the make-up class will be charged in addition to the regular monthly fee.

B. Unscheduled Long Term
In the event that a student is absent from class, without prior notice for 2 consecutive weeks, the student’s classes will be cancelled and they will be removed from the teacher’s schedule. To resume classes again the student will have to contact support team to arrange a schedule and teacher.

C. Emergencies
In the event that a student is absent from class for an emergency (hospitalization, severe illness, family death) that they cannot give a 48 hrs prior notice , they can request to reschedule the missed class at no cost to the student.

 

Rescheduling

A. Temporary Adjustments
For all rescheduling requests we will do our best to meet the request of the student. However, due to teachers’ schedules we can not guarantee specific times or teachers for rescheduled classes.
No more than 3 classes may be rescheduled per student per month.
B. Permanent Schedule Change
To change schedule the student should contact support team with their request at least 48 hours prior to the date of the requested change, we will do our best to accommodate the request of the student as quickly as possible. Again, due to the teachers’ schedules we make no guarantee that the requested change will be possible.

Cancellation

Cancellations will go into effect on the last class date stated by the student only if the notification was given 48 hours prior to that class, while if the cancellation request was for immediate action it will go into effect 48 hours after receiving it.
